Event: Zagreb VINOcom 2020 Cancelled due to Covid-19 Related Concerns
Biggest annual Croatian wine fair VINOcom was cancelled yesterday. The organisers cited concerns for the health of the exhibitors and guests alike as being crucial in their final decision.
As coronavirus infection numbers grow in Croatia the authorities are tightening anti-epidemic measures weekly. This year’s VINOcom is the latest victim of the restrictions. Theoretically, the fair could’ve been staged, but it would be quite modest. The organisers waited until the last minute in hope of some sort of positive turn-around in a country going through the second wave of infections, but finally made a responsible (albeit not popular) choice of cancelling the event.
Croatia’s biggest wine event will hopefully be organised using alternative dates. If not, we always have next year to look forward to.
